10 Days Adventure & Cultural Tour South & East Madagascar

Venture into the far reaches of Madagascar on this 10-day journey that reveals the diverse landscapes of one of the most spellbinding countries on the African continent. From the emerald-green crater lakes of the Antsirabe district to the golden hues of sunset in the Avenue of the Baobabs, paired with Madagascar’s rainbow and traverse remote paths and waterways into the wild-Madagascar offers a journey unlike any other.

Day 1: International flight – Antananarivo-Andasibe

On arrival at 11 am. Upon arrival at Antananarivo airport, you will be greeted by Seven by Far representative and shuttled directly to Andasibe. Pass by Marozevo Village to visit Peyrieras reserve. At the beginning of the evening start the Nocturnal walk to meet the nocturnal animals such as the Mouse lemur, frogs, and different types of strange insects and amphibians.

Day 2: Andasibe National Park

Early in the morning after breakfast, you’ll visit the National Park of Andasibe to meet the Indri-Indri, which is the biggest species of lemur in the world. You’ll encounter some other species of fauna such as the varied birdlife, and after lunch, we will take you to visit the private reserve of Vakona. Overnight at Vakona Forest Lodge.

Day 3: Andasibe – Antsirabe

After eating breakfast, depart southward through the naked hills and landscapes that look like the Far East, with rice field frames and other interesting places that the guide will show you. Overnight at Couleur Café booked on full board. Optional guided walking tour for the day.

Day 4: Antsirabe – Ranomafana

After breakfast, we can go on a city tour of Antsirabe, and you have the possibility to do it on a rickshaw before we drive through the Tapia Forest. We’ll have a short visit to Ambositra, a well-known town where woodcarvers perform incredible shows. At the end of the afternoon, go on a night walk to see how the nocturnal wildlife behaves.

Day 5: Ranomafana National park

The National Park is one of Madagascar’s best-known rainforest wildlife hot spots. Ranomafana consists largely of steep, forested slopes, covered in well-designed trails. Some of the trails lead to lookout points from where the views are mesmerizing. Besides all the beautiful lemurs and other wildlife, leeches are common in this park. The guide will do his best to show you many species of lemurs, reptiles, birds, and insects.

Day 6: Ranomafana – Isalo

We’ll have an early visit to Ranomafana National Park, where some species of lemurs such as bamboo lemurs, Milne-Edward’s lemurs, and where lots of birds live as well. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Sahamalaotra forest part. After the visit, we’ll drive through a hilly landscape, first in Fianarantsoa, which is a very catholic city, followed by Ambalavao, best known to be a winery town, and also the last town on the highlands. We continue on to Ranohira. Overnight at Isalo Rock Lodge.

Day 7: Isalo National Park – Ifaty

Visit Isalo, one of the largest parks in Madagascar, which spreads over 81,540 hectares. It rests on top of a plateau made of continental sandstone dating back to the Jurassic era. The sandstone is very much eroded, and you can only witness its age when looking at the sandy valleys and the canyons. Afterwards we drive to Ifaty.

Day 8: Ifaty – Anakao

After early breakfast, we drive to Tulear throughout the South-Eastern landscape. Transfer to the port for the boat to Anakao. You can enjoy the rest of the day on the beach or spend the day with some activities proposed by the hotel.

Day 9: Anakao – Toliara – Antananarivo

You’ll get ready earlier than your previous days, and we’ll transfer back to Toliara. Upon arrival, you will visit the Arboretum of Antsokay to see many endemic animals and plants. After that, you will visit the city with a guide. After that, transfer to the airport to take the flight back to Tana, with the flight scheduled between 6.15 pm-7.55 pm.

Day 10: Antananarivo After morning preparation, drive back to the capital, and if time allows it, you can pass by the artisanal market to buy some souvenirs. After that, transfer to the airport for your international air transfer at 4:00 pm.
