3 days Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale national park takes you to one of Africa’s primate hubs for wonderful encounters with chimps and other 12 primates. Kibale National park is located in the southern part of Uganda and covers an area of 795 square kilometers. The park consists of mainly tropical rain-forest with vast woodlands and Savannah. The rain-forest is an extension of those found in central Africa although time and human activity has reduced its size considerably. Kibale National Park has a population of over 1,500 chimpanzees, 12 other primates, 60 mammals, 375 species  of birds and 351 of trees. Some of the trees in the forest can grow up to 55 meters in height while others are over 200 years old. Before we go further, it is important to mention that Kibale forest is also home to forest elephants, leopards, lions (from Queen Elizabeth), warthogs, hippos and giant forest pigs. Kibale forest is the best place to track chimpanzees in the world.

Day 1: Kampala – Kibale National Park:

After breakfast, you will drive to Fort portal. Arrive in time for lunch. After lunch visit Nyakasura where you will be able to see stalagmites and Stalactites that are locally referred to as “Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru”. Later drive to Kibale National Park. Kibale National Park is one of the most beautiful and stunning forests in Uganda. It is home to our closest relative – the endangered Chimpanzee. The forest also boasts of having one of the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa totaling 13 species that include the threatened Red Colobus monkey, L’hoest’s monkey Blue monkey, Grey Cheeked, Velvet and the Black / White Colobus monkeys. Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking Safari in Kibale:

After early breakfast, report at Kanyanchu Tourist Centre where tourist activities begin and set out to track chimpanzees in Kibale forest. Chances of viewing the chimps are over 90% but not a guarantee.

After lunch visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary from where you will take on a guided walk around the swamp. This walk will provide you with the opportunity to see a wide range of flora and fauna. View a variety of butterflies, birds and other insects. Have a tour of the crater region around Ndali lodge. You may also stop over at any tea plantation along the road if you wish.

Dinner and over night stay at either Kyaninga Lodge /Ndali Lodge (High End Facility) or Chimp’s Nest / Chimpanzee guest House (Budget Facilities). Meal Plan: B, L, D.

Day 3: Kibale National Park – Kampala:

Morning guided walk to visit the crater Lakes of Ndali for an outstanding scenery, there after proceed to Kampala with Lunch en route. Meal Plan B,L
