Day 2: Air transfer to Anjajavy Lodge

After an early breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Ivato International Airport for your scheduled charter flight to Anjajavy. You’ll be greeted on arrival by a hotel representative and driven to Anjajavy Lodge, a luxury property set within a 450-hectare nature reserve in the north-west coast of Madagascar. Your duplex rosewood villa will feature a private deck overlooking the ocean, and you’ll be surrounded by a magical forest filled with lemurs, chameleons and hummingbirds.
This evening, you’ll venture out on an exciting night walk to see the forest’s nocturnal creatures including the playful coquerel’s siafakas and the tiny danfoss mouse lemurs. Listen out for the strange squeal of the Grewcock’s sportive lemur, and keep watch for the Commerson’s leaf-nosed bat, the endemic tsingy tuft-tailed rat, and the elusive fossa, Madagascar’s largest predator.

The sifakas and other species of lemur such as the common brown lemur, roam freely around the lodge gardens and the reserve. You’ll return to the lodge for a romantic lunch served in the Oasis, a wet biotope filled with plants to represent the spectacular floral diversity of Madagascar. Keep your eyes peeled for birds such as the Souimanga Sunbirds and the Malagasy Kingfishers, frogs and chameleons in the pond, and families of lemurs leaping through the canopy.
